The ideal candidate will be able to appropriately identify the needs of both new and current customers in order to aid customers in their success using our product. This will be done by developing an appropriate level of communication with clients and internal team members to better understand and mitigate any issues the customers may face.
Role Overview: We’re looking for a motivated and enterprising Account Manager to manage a diverse portfolio of clients including some of the UK’s leading charities and corporates while supporting the wider partnerships team achieve ambitious growth goals for Gladiator Events Ltd. This is a fast-paced role for a people-centric and organised person who has a flair for championing clients, spotting opportunities and building great relationships with stakeholders. The successful candidate will have an entrepreneurial streak and be able to pick up tasks and run with them.
You will be responsible for ensuring that all our clients experience the GE way of doing things which reflects our core values and collaborative ways of working. This role will involve supporting the wider business across operations, impact reporting, accounts and business development as required.
The role will be hybrid: Remote based (must be in the UK). In-person days in London once every 2 weeks, with option for more. Working at events from time to time for different charity clients, approximately 5 - 10 per year.
Key Accountabilities:
- Account Management: manage the full life-cycle process of GE client accounts. This includes kick-off meetings, ideation sessions, project meetings (external and internal), debriefs, review meetings, servicing inbound client requests (normally within a 24-hour time window) and supporting the wider partnerships team with the management of GE’s client portfolio.
- Client & Performance Reporting: input into the CRM, Client Tracker, debrief matrixes, reports, surveys and end-of-season debriefs while looking for efficiencies and ways to improve processes and client management. Report on activities and progress against personal and company-wide KPIs and objectives of the Partnerships department.
- Budgets: responsibility for keeping client and internal budgets up-to-date, always looking for opportunities to make savings and keeping the wider project team accountable for spending. Set budget review meetings with clients and create costings and proposals for new events. Responsible for reconciling budgets that you manage and supporting wider partnerships team on Series level budgets.
- Content Writing: creating original content for the website, newsletters and other articles. Taking ownership of the content plan and performance tracking.
- Business Development Support: support with outbound business development work, networking, content creation (newsletters and articles), B2B marketing activities, proposal writing and responding to tender requests.
- Event Operations: Support the wider operations teams in times of peak delivery and work within both client facing and operational roles on live events. Ability to deliver operational and logistics tasks which support the wider operations team.
- Team Player: Contributing to Company creative ideation and innovation sessions, contributing towards improving our social and environmental impact, to continually improve on our performance as a Certified B Corp. Having a positive influence on the GE strategy including key pillars of ‘Happy Clients’ and supporting wider partnerships team to keep abreast of latest trends and innovations.
Knowledge, Skills & Attributes
Essential:
- At least 1-2 years' experience working in a customer or client facing role.
- Experience working in the live outdoor events sector.
- Practical experience managing client relationships which have regular project meetings and responding to requests.
- Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to interpret data, pitch, network with a ‘consultative sales’ approach.
- Strong in-person, virtual and written communication skills.
- Ability to build trusted and robust relationships often working as the ‘extension’ of a client's team as a trusted partner.
- Ability to manage multiple work-streams at once including project planning, time management and prioritising tasks.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Full UK Driver’s Licence and willing to drive a variety of vehicles including Company vans, ATV and 4x4 vehicles.
Desirable:
- Experience with Microsoft Teams & using SharePoint.
- Active interest in the outdoor events sector.
- Experience on any of the types of events organised by GE including treks, walks, OCR & running events.
- Active interest in doing better business, sustainability and B-Corps.
- Any qualifications related to the event industry (either at degree level or a NGB recognised award).

Renumeration and How to Apply:
Role Location: Hybrid / Remote. 90% Remote based with one day bi-weekly to be spent at our London office (London Bridge). Some UK travel expected in the event season (mostly at weekends).
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 pro rata depending on experience.
Type of Role: This is a full-time position (40 hours per week, Monday to Friday), with a 3-month probationary period.
