Position
Role Purpose
The purpose of this role is to deliver high-quality, precision machining and toolmaking services, ensuring products are manufactured to exacting standards and tight tolerances. Working independently and collaboratively, the role supports continuous improvement, mentors apprentices, and contributes to a safe and efficient workplace, upholding company values and practices at all times.
Accountability
- Sound working knowledge of manual toolroom machinery i.e. Vertical Borer, Lathe, Milling Machine, Surface Grinder etc
- Commitment to producing high quality products
- Proven ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience of working to tight tolerances and to fine detail
- Capable of working unsupervised and on own initiative
- Work in a manner that protects the health, safety and welfare of self and others
- Work with colleagues to continuously improve the company’s working practices
- Provide Training and Competence Support to apprentices
- Attend appropriate meetings for reporting purposes when required
- Adhere to all Company policies and procedures including quality, safety, environmental and HR
Requirements
Experience
- Time served Toolmaker/Machinist with Mechanical Fitting skills
- Proven experience within the Toolmaking / Machine shop industry
