We currently have an exciting new opportunity for a NDT Multi-Discipline Technician to join our Inspection Services team in Newcastle. Please note this is a PAYE role.

Role Purpose

You will mainly deliver high quality MT & UT inspection for offshore wind foundations (Jackets and Pile Sleeves) while working closely with the project manager and QA team. You will execute inspections to approved procedures, ITPs, and client specifications for an offshore wind contract, ensuring schedule, safety, and documentation are met.

Accountability

  • Carrying out high-quality UT, MT and PT inspections on offshore wind foundation welds.
  • Ensuring all inspections meet approved procedures, ITPs and client specifications.
  • Producing accurate, audit-ready reports with full traceability.
  • Working closely with the project manager and QA team to maintain schedule, safety and quality.
  • Operating inspection equipment (e.g., Sonatest D50/D70) and following relevant ISO standards.
  • Working safely in heavy fabrication environments with lifting ops, hot work, confined spaces and work at height.
  • Following RAMS, permit-to-work systems and company quality frameworks (ISO 17020 / 17025).

Essential Certifications

  • PCN Level 2 UT (3.1 / 3.2 / 3.7 / 3.8 / 3.9).
  • PCN Level 2 MT & PT.

Desirable Certification

  • PCN Level 2 PAUT.

Experience

  • Strong UT experience on butt welds and TKY connections in offshore wind.

Technical Skills

  • Flaw characterisation and sizing to ISO 11666 & ISO 17640.
  • Competent with Sonatest equipment.
  • Accurate reporting and documentation.

Health, Safety & Quality

  • Experience with QMS systems (e.g., Papertrail).
  • Safe working behaviour in heavy fabrication and hazardous environments.
  • Understanding of RAMS, permits and dynamic risk assessment.
  • Medically fit and able to handle up to 20 kg.

  • High attention to detail and strong communication.
  • Proactive problem-solver with an ownership mindset.
  • Flexible and reliable for shift work and short-notice changes.
  • Right to work in the UK and able to pass security/substance screening.
