We currently have an exciting new opportunity for an Advanced NDT Technician to join our Inspection Services team and be based around the Central Belt of Scotland. Role Purpose
To support the Advanced Operations Manager and Operations Director in delivering a high‑quality, efficient and client‑focused inspection service, ensuring all activities are executed safely, compliantly and in line with client production requirements. The role is accountable for the accurate evaluation and reporting of inspection and repair activities, maintaining operational productivity, and upholding the highest standards of HSE, quality and cost control across assigned projects.
Accountability
- Responsible for supporting the Advanced Operations Manager and Operations Director in providing an efficient and first‑class leading service to Clients.
- Accountable for ensuring inspection activities are carried out as per Client’s production requirements for their specified sites and assets.
- Responsible for producing final inspection and/or repair reports for specified components.
- Evaluate results of test in accordance with applicable specifications where necessary.
- Review and advise on equipment needs and ensure equipment is used correctly, safely and is in good working condition.
- Accountable for ensuring all operations are carried out in a safe, efficient and cost‑effective manner.
- Undertake the review of working practices to ensure client needs are fully met.
- Responsible for ensuring all safety regulations are followed and Company performance targets in respect of HSE are being met and exceeded.
- Be responsible for compliance with the Company’s Quality System on assigned projects.
- Accountable for ensuring productivity of operations is maintained at all times, whether working on an individual basis or in a team environment.
Requirements
- PCN Level 2 Eddy Current‑Wrought Products/Condenser Tubes and welds.
- IRIS Experience, preferably using Eddyfi Ectane system.
- PCN Level 2 Phased Array.
- GWO Offshore Survival Certification (BOSIET/FOET).
- Current UKOOA Medical.
- MIST.
- EBS and XBR.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Experience of CUI or alternatively previous experience using Pulsed Eddy Current.
- Experience using Silverwing RMS Auto UT Systems.
- Competent in using the Olympus Omniscan or similar and performing corrosion mapping with the Olympus HydroForm system.
Person Specification
- Degree / technical certification / experience in a relevant subject or acceptable relevant experience.
- Proven experience within the energy sector.
- Willing and able to travel offshore and overseas, as and when required, at times at very short notice.
- Demonstrate excellent and proven client liaison skills.
