We are seeking an accomplished Principal Consultant to provide expert guidance, lead strategic projects, and help shape the future of our Advisory Practice.

The Role Key Responsibilities: As Principal Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in scaling our Advisory Practice while delivering exceptional outcomes for clients. Your responsibilities will span strategic leadership, client delivery, business development, and team building.
- Client acquisition & relationship management: Actively engage with potential clients to identify business needs, propose tailored solutions, and build strong, long-lasting relationships. Drive business development activities, including networking, pitching, and securing new client engagements.
- Sales & business development: Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts and proactively seek out new prospects. Lead client proposals, negotiations, and contracting processes to successfully close deals that align with the company’s growth strategy.
- Commercial & financial accountability: Contribute to the achievement of financial targets, including revenue and profitability goals. Regularly track and report on financial performance, delivering on both short-term and long-term business objectives.
- Profitability & budget management: Accountable for managing project budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and maintaining high-quality service delivery while meeting financial targets. Ensure project profitability by managing costs and timelines effectively.
- Consulting expertise & commercial acumen: Provide strategic insights and recommendations to clients, leveraging deep industry knowledge and financial acumen. Maintain a keen awareness of market trends and competitors to identify opportunities for business growth.
1. Strategic Leadership & Business Development: Collaborate with the VP to define and execute the growth strategy for the Advisory Practice. Identify and pursue business development opportunities, cultivating relationships with decision-makers in pharma and biotech. Lead proposal development, client presentations, and contract negotiations to secure new engagements. Drive thought leadership initiatives (e.g., white papers, blogs, webinars) to strengthen G&L’s market presence.
2. Client Engagement & Delivery: Serve as the primary advisor to senior client stakeholders, delivering exceptional service and building long-term partnerships. Lead the end-to-end design and delivery of consulting projects in:
- Organizational Design & Restructuring: Optimize organizational structures, governance, and workforce capabilities.
- Process Improvement & Implementation: Redesign operations for efficiency, cost reduction, and quality enhancement.
- Digital Technology Implementation: Strategize and oversee the integration of innovative digital solutions.
Manage and mentor project teams, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery of high-quality, tailored solutions.
3. Practice Development & Team Building: Partner with leadership to expand and refine our capabilities, tools, and methodologies. Mentor and develop junior consultants, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence. Stay ahead of market trends and industry challenges to shape innovative service offerings.
4. Financial & Operational Management: Develop project budgets, monitor performance, and ensure profitability. Improve internal processes to enhance the efficiency and scalability of the Practice.
Requirements What We’re Looking For: We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven leader with a passion for driving transformation in Life Sciences.
- Competencies & Skills: Exceptional leadership and team management skills. Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities. Proven ability to engage senior stakeholders and deliver measurable results. Expertise in organizational design, process improvement, and digital transformation within regulated industries. Qualifications & Experience: Advanced degree (e.g., MBA) in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field. Minimum 10 years of experience in senior consulting roles, with a proven track record of delivering high-profile programs. Significant experience in pharmaceuticals or biotech, including expertise in global regulatory affairs and organizational design. Project management certification (Agile, Prince2, Six Sigma) is a plus.
