z/OS Systems Programmer - Mainframe Modernisation - Fully Remote - Contract

We are looking for an experienced z/OS Systems Programmer to join a global team, supporting the migration, installation, maintenance, and performance optimisation of IBM z/OS environments.

This role is critical to ensuring reliability, security, and efficiency across Mainframe infrastructure, while contributing to modernisation and compliance initiatives.

Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain z/OS, JES2, SMP/E, and RACF
Manage system patches, upgrades, and performance tuning
Troubleshoot and resolve complex Mainframe systems issues
Support integrations, migrations, and deployments across the platform
Ensure adherence to security policies and regulatory compliance
Collaborate with technical teams to deliver efficient and secure solutions

Key Skills & Experience
Strong experience in z/OS systems programming
Proficiency with JCL, REXX, CLIST, and SMP/E
Hands-on experience with RACF administration
Demonstrable ability to manage and troubleshoot enterprise
Mainframe environments
Experience with ISV tools such as Broadcom, BMC, or equivalent (desirable)
