We are hiring a Mainframe Project Manager to join a leading Bank on a permanent basis, delivering complex change initiatives across core banking and legacy platforms. This role is critical to ensuring the stability, resilience, and ongoing evolution of mission‑critical mainframe systems in a highly regulated environment.
You will lead end‑to‑end delivery of technology projects, working closely with engineering, infrastructure, operations, and senior business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Own and deliver mainframe‑focused projects from initiation through to completion
- Define project plans, milestones, budgets, and delivery governance
- Lead cross‑functional teams across development, infrastructure, testing, and production support
- Manage risks, issues, dependencies, and change control
- Ensure delivery aligns with regulatory, audit, and security requirements
- Provide clear, concise reporting to senior stakeholders and steering committees
- Coordinate delivery across onshore/offshore teams and third‑party vendors
- Drive continuous improvement in delivery standards and controls
- Strong experience as a Project Manager
- Proven delivery experience on mainframe platforms (e.g. z/OS, COBOL, CICS, DB2, IMS)
- Experience managing large, complex, business‑critical systems
- Solid understanding of SDLC and enterprise change management
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Comfortable operating in regulated, high‑pressure environments
