Trainee Scaffolding Management Position – London / Kent We are looking for a brand new trainee to join our London business unit, with the long-term aim of developing into a scaffolding management position. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is keen to build a career in the scaffolding and construction industry. You do not need to have management experience, but you must have the right attitude, be willing to learn, and be prepared to work hard. The successful candidate will be someone who is positive, proactive, open-minded, reliable, and able to think on their feet. We are looking for a problem solver who wants to understand the industry from the ground up and develop into a future management role. The Role The trainee will follow a structured development programme, gaining experience across different areas of the business. This will include: Spending the first 4 days per week in the yard for approximately 4-6 months to gain a practical understanding of scaffold materials, equipment, stock control, loading, logistics, and how the operational side of the business works. Following this initial period, the trainee will spend time on construction sites learning about scaffolding in various live site environments. This will include understanding site safety, scaffold design principles, erection processes, inspections, client requirements, and the day-to-day running of scaffold projects. The trainee will also shadow our Project Managers, gaining exposure to planning, labour coordination, health and safety, client communication, commercial awareness, programme management, and problem solving on site. At the end of this period the successful candidate will have gained an NVQ2 to become a qualified scaffolder. There will also be time spent in the office, working closely with the business unit lead and wider management team to understand how projects are priced, planned, managed, delivered, and reviewed. The Person We’re Looking For Experience is not the most important thing to us – attitude is. No requirement to have attended education above GCSE level - pass mark in English and Maths required. We believe skills can be taught, but a positive mindset, a strong work ethic, and the desire to succeed are qualities that come from within. We’re looking for someone who: ● Has a positive, proactive, can-do attitude. ● Is hardworking, reliable, and willing to go the extra mile. ● Takes pride in everything they do, no matter how big or small the task. ● Is eager to learn, asks questions, and isn’t afraid to get stuck in. ● Can think logically, solve problems, and use their initiative. ● Is open-minded and willing to learn from experienced colleagues. ● Wants to build a long-term career. ● Can communicate professionally and work well as part of a team. What We Offer A genuine opportunity to develop into a scaffolding management role Hands-on training across the yard, site, and office Mentoring from experienced Project Managers and senior leaders Exposure to live construction projects, including some landmark and prestige projects across London A clear pathway into scaffolding operations, project management, and business unit management The chance to build a long-term career in a fast-paced and essential part of the construction industry If you’re motivated, ambitious, and prepared to put the effort in, we’ll invest the time to teach you the technical knowledge and give you the experience needed to progress into a scaffolding management position.
