Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for you to grow and develop within your HR career. We are seeking a proactive and versatile Junior HR Advisor to join our dynamic team. This is a developmental role ideal for someone with foundational HR experience who is eager to grow into a seasoned HR professional. You will provide operational HR support across the site, working closely with managers and employees to ensure effective HR service delivery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
How You’ll Contribute
- Employee Relations: Serve as the first point of contact for employees and managers, handling queries and resolving issues to promote a positive and productive workplace culture.
- Policy Implementation: Ensure that HR policies and procedures are communicated, understood, and consistently applied across the site.
- Talent Management: Support managers with workforce planning, onboarding, and career development, focusing on skills and capability building within the teams.
- Performance Management: Coach managers on effective performance management practices including goal-setting, feedback, and performance reviews.
- Operational Support: Partner closely with managers to deliver day-to-day HR support, advising on employee relations, absence management, disciplinary actions, and grievance procedures.
- HR Projects: Contribute to and lead HR projects aligned with GKN Aerospace's broader HR and operational strategy.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and practices, driving efficiency and effectiveness in HR operations.
What You’ll Bring
- Some experience in an HR support or advisory role (e.g. HR Assistant or Coordinator) within an operational HR role ideally in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A proactive solution-focused mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- Familiarity with UK employment law and HR best practices.
- Proficient in HR systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- A team player who can partner with managers to support organisational goals and contribute to the success of the HR team.
