Its great to know youre making a difference to the future of aviation! Whatever part you play youll be helping us deliver operational excellence to our customers. At our GKN Filton site, we specialise in the design and manufacture of large complex structural wing assemblies, detailed metallic components and wing systems for a combination of both civil and military aircraft.

Our new Maintenance Engineer will join a small fault finding and diagnosing faults on complex machine tools and plant as well as diagnosing faults on rails, gearboxes, etc.

  • Machine alignments by: Checking and correction of machine alignments using clocking bars, datum holes and slip gauges, laser alignments, ball bar tests
  • Correction by changing parameters in CNC control and testing with machine cuts and cycles
  • Maintenance of associated plant such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, CNC gear cutters, jig borers, robots, swarf conveyors, coolant systems, etc.

Electrical appreciation:

  • Knowledge of machine tools electrically
  • Knowledge of machine parameters and diagnostics
  • Ability to run calibration programmes
  • How to disconnect pumps and motors
  • How to reset trip and fuses
