Due to an exciting period of significant growth and investment, we are now seeking a suitably experienced Facilities Project Engineer to join the team here in our East Cowes facilities on an 18 month fixed-term basis, to support the installation of a significant new piece of manufacturing machinery. Whilst an initial 18 month contract, this position has the potential to offer an opportunity for the right candidate to enter the business, prove themselves and progress to a permanent role within the projects team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work in collaboration with business partners to capture their workspace and facilities (building) requirements.
  • Plan, design and oversee the configuration, reconfiguration and alteration of equipment and machinery.
  • Gather and review data concerning facility or equipment specifications, company or government restrictions, and required completion date and construction feasibility.
  • Coordinate with architecture/engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawings.
  • Prepare bid sheets and, in collaboration with Procurement, contracts for construction and facilities acquisitions.
  • Review and estimate design cost including equipment, installation, labour, materials, preparation, and other related costs.

Job Qualifications

Essential

  • Project/programme management experience/qualification
  • Significant construction and/or mechanical/electrical experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Desirable

  • Able to plan and estimate construction projects.
  • Understanding of building standards and able to read engineering drawings.
  • Demonstrable previous facility engineering experience.
  • Professional qualification in an engineering discipline.
  • Experience working with a Lean Operating Model/Production System.
