Job Summary
Working across our Filton and Western Approach sites where we design and manufacture large complex structural wing assemblies, wing spars, detailed metallic components and wing systems, our new Contracts Specialist (Indirect Procurement) will look after the commercial management and sourcing of capital equipment (tenders & negotiation) in our Non‑Aircraft team. This is a busy and challenging position in a high-performing team which will see you take the lead on in-contract modifications, transfers or new sourcing, communicating both internally and with a range of suppliers. The role will be based on our Filton site.
What You'll Be Doing
- You will take responsibility for:
- The interface between programme and commodity management for new sourcing and change programmes in line with the group commodity strategy
- Reporting procurement activity and site reviews
- The development and support of site cost‑reduction opportunities and supplier development plans in‑line with business requirements
- Support commodity managers for the geographic region supplier selection and drive the implementation of global / regional agreements within geographic area
- Site procurement change control, export control and ITAR
- Ensuring item / contract data is updated and maintained
- Developing and supporting site cost reduction opportunities and supplier development plans in‑line with business requirements
- The resolution of Invoice queries related to pricing
- Being an escalation point for any cost / contractual issues with suppliers working with commodity management where further escalation is required.
What You'll Bring
- Degree qualified (or equivalent)
- Previous experience in Procurement / Commercial roles including MRP
- Previous experience within facilities procurement
- A demonstrated ability to build relations with a supplier network and having insight in supplier processes
- CIPS qualification would be preferable
- The ability to travel between our manufacturing sites in Bristol as well as infrequent visits to Luton, Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight, and on occasion across our global network
