It’s great to know you’re making a difference to the future of aviation! Whatever part you play you’ll be helping us deliver operational excellence to our customers. At our GKN Filton site we specialise in the design and manufacture of large complex structural wing assemblies, detailed metallic components and wing systems for a combination of both civil and military aircraft.
We are currently searching qualified fitters to operate as multi‑skilled, flexible workers to ensure maximum effectiveness and efficiency within our areas. Successful applicants will have a wide knowledge of hand and machine tools used in the aircraft industry, including:
- Precession riveting
- Drill / Ream / Countersink in panels with Vanmar tools
- Setting structures in build jigs
- Deburring of structures
- Fettling using approved setting tools
- Treatment touch‑up in localised areas on aluminium
- Use of CNC pillar drills (DONAU)
- Part marking and identifying
How You’ll Contribute:
- Ensure parts are produced on a right first time basis
- Ensure that any calibrated equipment used is within date
- Responsible for the timely clearance of work phases using the SAP system
- Responsible for highlighting any non‑conformance to the Process Team Leader
- Adhering to the requirements of the GKNAF Quality Procedures
- Accountable for Health
