Our Geotechnical Department is growing, and we are looking for a Junior Geotechnical Engineer / Geologist to join our team.
Job Summary:
G&K is seeking a Junior Geotechnical Engineer to join its team in the UK. You will serve a key role in planning and execution of Geotechnical Investigation for Renewable Energy Projects (Solar & BESS). You will be working closely with our Senior Geotechnical Engineer. The role is hybrid, combining on-site work and work from home. The candidate can be based anywhere in the UK, with a preferred location around Northampton area.
Responsibilities:
- Undertake on-site geotechnical investigations, including trial pit & borehole logging, collection of samples, and other in-situ tests
- Phase 1 geotechnical and geoenvironmental desk studies preparation
- Phase 2 Ground investigation report preparation (factual & interpretative)
- Planning of Geotechnical Investigations, including review & procurement of various reports, preparation of test locations & lab schedules
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering or Geology / Mining Engineering. Master's degree preferred
- 1-5 years related engineering experience
- Self-motivated with problem-solving capabilities
- Experience with geotechnical software will be considered an advantage
- Teamwork and attention to detail
- Self-disciplined and result oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities
- Willingness to travel and spend the majority of work hours in the field
- Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment
- Valid driving licence
