Port Services at Konecranes focuses on the service, maintenance and repair of lifting equipment and automation solutions within ports, harbours and terminals. Equipment includes cranes, straddle carriers, container handling equipment and lift trucks. We are recruiting a Port Service Engineer to carry out the maintenance and repair of this equipment. All of our customers are located in coastal areas, so being willing to travel is a key requirement for this role as well as being electrically qualified. We are looking for candidates who are ideally based in the north of the UK, preferably in the northeast - Newcastle, Gateshead, Middlesbrough or the Humber area. This role can also offer the opportunity to work overseas, but this is not a mandatory requirement.
Key Tasks And Responsibilities
- Electrical installation, commissioning, inspection, and testing including service and repair of Port Solution products, such as harbour cranes and straddle carriers.
- Troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, primarily in electrical equipment, drive technologies and PLCs in an industrial environment.
- Consulting with customers on repair and safety related issues.
- Accurate and descriptive problem reporting.
- Completion of inspection and examination documentation as appropriate.
Qualifications
- Electrically skilled with a basic understanding of mechanics and ideally hydraulics.
- Proven track record performing electrical commissioning and repairs to machinery, PLCs and drives.
- Experience of Siemens S7 essential. Use of FBD preferred.
- Good attention to detail.
- Be organised and self-motivated.
- Computer proficient including basic networking and component diagnostics.
- Familiar with the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER) and LOLER.
- UK driver's licence.
- Ability to work at height.
- Able to spend periods of time away from home.
