This role would be ideally suited to a mechanical engineer who is qualified to HNC or degree level and who is looking to expand their mechanical background and apply it to an engineering offer support role. The Offer Support Engineer plays a key role in supporting the external equipment sales team and project delivery managers by developing, preparing, and validating technical and commercial offers for customers. This role bridges the gap between customer requirements, technical feasibility, and commercial considerations, ensuring that proposals are accurate, competitive, and aligned with Konecranes strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the external technical sales team to understand customer needs, project specifications, and application requirements.
- Prepare and structure technical and commercial offers, including pricing, scope, and delivery terms.
- Ensure offers are compliant with company standards, policies, and customer requirements.
- Liaise with engineering, product management, and supply chain teams to validate technical solutions and cost structures.
- Update configurator GA drawings where local changes have been made.
- Update Manufacturing data to reflect local scope changes.
- Confirm the equipment configured meets or exceeds design standards.
- Support the sales team during customer negotiations by providing technical clarifications and justifications.
- Maintain accurate records of offers, quotations, and supporting documentation within the CRM system.
- Track offer status and provide timely updates to sales managers and stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to optimize solutions, improve competitiveness, and add value for customers.
- Support continuous improvement of offer tools, templates, and processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent technical background.
- CAD software experience.
- Previous experience in offer preparation, pre‑sales engineering, or technical sales support.
- Strong technical understanding of the industrial crane industry & associated products.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office & CAD software; experience with CRM and quotation tools is a plus.
- Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple offers and deadlines simultaneously.
- Ability to work closely with other teams including Sales, engineering and offer support teams.
- Customer‑focused mindset with strong problem‑solving abilities.
- Willingness to travel to support the business.
