Are you looking to take the next step in your finance career by supporting a group of branches and becoming a trusted business partner to operational leaders? We are hiring a Branch Business Controller who can blend solid financial fundamentals with proactive support to our Service team — someone who’s ready to add value through insight and analysis, while also staying grounded in the essential routine tasks that keep our reporting accurate. You’ll start by gaining a strong grounding in our finance processes and service organisation, then gradually move into leading P&L calls and supporting the Business Controller in driving performance. You’ll work closely with the UK & Ireland Business Controller and form part of a small, supportive finance team. The role also offers clear progression into broader controlling responsibilities as your confidence and capability develops.
Responsibilities
- Providing branch-level financial support and guidance across the UK and Ireland, ensuring accurate reporting and clear insight for operational leaders
- Facilitating monthly P&L meetings with branches, supporting managers in understanding their results while they retain ownership of the P&L
- Contributing to the budgeting process and supporting local branches with forecasting and financial planning
- Analyzing productivity and utilisation of front-line operatives and highlighting trends or issues to operational teams
- Preparing monthly management accounts packs with clear, concise commentary
- Preparing month-end reporting packs with independent, period-driven commentary that highlights key movements, trends and issues for stakeholders
- Completing essential month-end tasks, including balance sheet reconciliations, journals, data checks, and cost reallocations
- Assisting with internal and external audit requirements, ensuring strong financial control and documentation
- Maintaining Power BI dashboards and providing support to key users, ensuring reports remain accurate and up to date
- Supporting OneStream reporting processes, helping maintain data accuracy and completeness
Qualifications
- As a minimum: Part-qualified ACCA/CIMA, with at least 3–5 years management accounting experience
- A proactive finance professional with the ability to identify issues and work on their own initiative
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and confidently, with a track record of constructively challenging and influencing operational teams
- Detail-focused, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent Excel skills; comfortable working with existing Power BI and system reports
- SAP experience is helpful but not essential
- Periodic travel to UK and Ireland branches as required
