Job description

We're looking for an ambitious, hardworking Settlements Analyst to join the Operations team, initially supporting invoices and payments. High performers may go on to rotate across other departments depending on business needs and career development. This is a varied role spanning operations and finance, so strong analytical and numerical skills, sharp attention to detail, and the ability to work at pace are essential.

Key responsibilities

  • Receiving cargo payable invoices and LOIs, checking details, and preparing and sending Payment Instructions to Treasury
  • Issuing cargo sale invoices and LOIs to counterparties, and preparing Invoicing Notices for Treasury
  • Entering data related to other payables/receivables and submitting the paperwork to Treasury
  • Working closely with physical operators to ensure payables and receivables are submitted to Treasury on time
  • Verifying system data on payables and receivables for accuracy
  • Assisting Treasury in chasing late or missing payments from counterparties
  • Receiving and endorsing original documentation per documentary instructions

Job requirements

  • 2:1 or above from university (Finance, Economics, STEM and related degrees a plus but not required)
  • Some commercial experience in a fast-paced environment - ideally financial/professional services or the energy sector
  • Strong numerical ability and excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal English, with strong interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a dynamic team
  • Hardworking, quick to learn and proactive
