Company profile - AI Education Start-up

In this Founder's Associate job, you will be joining a fast-growing AI education start-up spun out of a world-leading London university. They offer highly differentiated, human-led and AI-powered learning programmes that help organisations and individuals become fluent and highly skilled in AI, with every programme tailored to the learner's industry, role, level of AI knowledge and preferred LLM.

Working with leadership teams and employees at some of the world's leading businesses, including a top international management consultancy, they are on a mission to democratise education through programmes that are current, job-ready and affordable. With Masters-level programmes in AI and business launching next year, this ambitious EdTech start-up is looking for a Business Development & Marketing Executive to join as their second employee.

Job description - Commercial Founder Associate

As Founder's Associate, you'll have two core jobs. First, you'll run executive education programmes end to end, making sure every event runs flawlessly for senior clients. Second, you'll build the pipeline, owning the marketing, campaigns and outreach that bring senior decision-makers into meetings with the founders, and producing the proposals that follow.

This is not an executive assistant role. You'll report directly to a Co-Founder (a former Partner at a global consultancy and Director of Executive Education at two leading business schools), working daily alongside the founding team, senior client sponsors and delivery partners.

Key responsibilities - Founder's Associate (Programme & Marketing)

In this Founders Associate job in London, your responsibilities will include:

  • Running executive education programmes from kick-off to completion, including sourcing venues, catering and AV, and managing suppliers and budgets.
  • Owning delegate communications, from joining instructions and pre-work to reminders and follow-up.
  • Running the day itself: set-up, timings, faculty and delegate support, and fixing problems before anyone notices.
  • Managing day-to-day client relationships, alongside contracts, POs, invoicing, onboarding and client impact reporting.
  • Setting up and running the CRM, taking an analytical approach to the sales pipeline.
  • Planning and running sector campaigns (e.g. financial services or FMCG), building target lists of around 100 companies and 10 decision-makers in each.
  • Engaging those decision-makers through outreach, webinars, networking dinners and events, and converting this into meetings with the founders.
  • Running the website and LinkedIn presence, including regular posts for the company page and the founders.
  • Producing video for YouTube and social media, and writing case studies, articles and newsletters.
  • Tracking web and social analytics, and securing PR and speaking opportunities.
  • Producing client proposals following successful meetings, and building a library of templates, case studies and pricing.

Job requirements - Founder's Associate

The ideal Founder's Associate candidate will have:

  • A degree from a top university.
  • At least one substantial / notable internship or commercial experience.
  • A genuine all-rounder who kept themselves busy throughout their studies, whether through multiple internships, society leadership, side hustles, entrepreneurial projects, travel or anything else that shows real drive.
  • A go-getter attitude, with a track record of making things happen off your own back rather than waiting to be told.
  • A clear desire to work in an early-stage start-up, where you'll wear many hats, take real ownership from day one, and help shape the business as it grows.
  • Experience in digital marketing, social media or PR, and ideally some exposure to sales pipelines, proposals or short-form video.
  • Experience organising events or programmes, with fantastic attention to detail.
  • Excellent writing skills, with the ability to produce a LinkedIn post, campaign email or client proposal quickly and well.
  • Strong spoken communication skills and the confidence to work with senior clients.
  • Daily use of AI tools such as Claude or ChatGPT, and genuine curiosity about the field.
  • A self-starter attitude, comfort with ambiguity and the ability to learn fast. Startup, consulting, executive education or banking experience is a bonus.

Benefits of the job - Founder's Associate

  • A starting salary of Β£32,000 plus a Β£5,000 bonus linked to sales and delivery goals.
  • Central London office (please note this is an in-office role, 5 days a week, working alongside a Co-Founder).
  • 12-month initial contract, expected to become permanent.
  • 20 days' holiday plus bank holidays.
  • Daily exposure to the founders and senior clients.
  • A steep learning curve across delivery, sales and marketing.
  • The chance to complete the company's own AI programme when you join.
  • Huge opportunities for progression, with the option to specialise in or lead business development, marketing, delivery or operations after year one.
