Overview
In this role, you will lead the site’s Environmental, Health and Safety strategy and operations, ensuring compliance and driving a culture of safety. You’ll partner with site leadership to reduce risk, implement behavior-based safety, and manage regulatory reporting and training. You will influence cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to safeguard people and the environment while aligning with global EHS targets. Responsibilities
- Support site management on all EHS aspects and coach line managers to own safety
- Develop and deploy the site EHS vision aligned with global strategy and local regulations
- Ensure compliance with EHS regulations and complete regulatory reports
- Lead EHS trainings for employees and contractors
- Deploy behavior-based safety programmes and ensure health/safety programmes are implemented
- Manage emergency planning and site emergency response
- Track KPI reporting and drive actions to meet targets
- Analyze trends from audits, incidents, and near-misses and report to management
- Lead the employee safety committee to raise safety awareness and drive issue closures
- Oversee hazardous and non-hazardous waste management
- Maintain EHS documentation and external stakeholder relationships
- Serve as primary contact for regulatory agencies and collaborate with Regulatory, IT, and regional teams
Key requirements
- 10 to 15 years’ experience in EHS within the industry
- Appropriate country EHS qualification/certifications
- Fluent English; local language a plus
