At Gist, part of the M&S Group, we’re looking for experienced Class 1 Drivers to join our team at Spalding helping us keep M&S stores supplied every day.
You’ll have regular work, consistent hours, a modern fleet and the benefits that come with being part of the wider M&S family – all backed by a transport team that knows how important our drivers are to the operation.
The role at a glance
- £16.14 basic pay per hour + £1.79 per hour for unsociable hours worked
- £17.19 basic per hour on Saturdays and £20.36 per hours on Sundays
- Location: Spalding
- Experience: Minimum 18 months' Class 1 driving experience

We currently have opportunities across the following working patterns:

· Rota: Thurs - Sun, Thurs - Mon or Sat - Wed with a start time of 23:00
· Rota: Thurs - Sun, Thurs - Mon, Mon, Tues, Fri and Saturday or Sunday, Tues and Friday with start times between 00:00 - 03:00
· Rota: Fri - Mon, Fri - Tues, Fri and Saturday or Thurs - Mon with start times between 12:00 - 17:00
· Rota: Tues - Sat or Wed - Sat with start times between 14:00 - 17:00
Additional shift premiums may apply depending on your working pattern.
What you'll be doing
The role - Trunking
A straightforward trunking role focused on depot-to-depot deliveries with planned routes and minimal disruption.
What you’ll be doing:
· Completing planned trunk routes between depots and distribution centres
· Moving stock safely and efficiently across the network
· Supporting the wider transport operation
· Ensuring vehicle compliance and safety standards are maintained
Your day-to-day will include:
- Carrying out vehicle and safety checks
- Completing relevant delivery paperwork
- Working safely and efficiently to planned schedules
- Keeping in touch with our transport team throughout your shift
- Representing Gist and M&S professionally on the road and at stores

What we're looking for
You'll need:
- A valid Class 1 (C+E) licence
- A minimum of 18 months' Class 1 driving experience
- Valid Driver CPC
- A driving record that meets our internal safety and compliance standards
- A professional and safety-focused approach
- A reliable, team-focused attitude
- Confidence with manual handling where required
