At Gist, part of the M&S Group, we’re looking for experienced Class 1 Drivers to join our team at Chesterfield, helping us keep M&S stores supplied every day.

The role at a glance
- Pay: £17.33 per hour + shift premiums
- Location: Chesterfield
- Experience: Minimum 18 months' Class 1 driving experience
Find a routine that works for you
We currently have opportunities across the following working patterns:
- Hours: 12 hour shifts
- Rota: 8 week rolling rota
- Start times: AM - 07:00-10:00
- Start times PM -15:00 - 18:00
- Start times Nights - 23:00 - 01:00
Additional shift premiums may apply depending on your working pattern.
The role - Trunking
A straightforward trunking role focused on depot-to-depot deliveries with planned routes and minimal disruption.
What you’ll be doing:
· Completing planned trunk routes between depots and distribution centres
· Moving stock safely and efficiently across the network
· Supporting the wider transport operation
· Ensuring vehicle compliance and safety standards are maintained
Your day-to-day will include:
- Completing planned deliveries to M&S stores
- Carrying out vehicle and safety checks
- Completing relevant delivery paperwork
- Working safely and efficiently to planned schedules
- Keeping in touch with our transport team throughout your shift
- Representing Gist and M&S professionally on the road and at stores

- £17.33 per hour + £2.34 unsociable pay per hour between 20:00 -06:00
- Premiums: Saturday is additional £1.23 per hour and Sunday is an additional £3.71 per hour
- Friday premium (from midday) is £1.26

What we're looking for
You'll need:
- A valid Class 1 (C+E) licence
- A minimum of 18 months' Class 1 driving experience
- Valid Driver CPC
- A driving record that meets our internal safety and compliance standards
- A professional and safety-focused approach
- A reliable, team-focused attitude
- Confidence with manual handling where required
