This is a hands on, delivery focused role where you will be instrumental in assessing, designing, deploying, migrating, testing and handing over enterprise network solutions across 20 sites throughout the UK and Ireland, therefore you must be comfortable with regular travel.
If you are a strong Cisco networking professional who enjoys working on complex infrastructure projects, solving problems on the ground and seeing your work make a real operational impact, this could be the opportunity for you.
What you'll be doing
As the Depot Infrastructure Network Engineer, you will be pivotal in delivering network infrastructure projects from initial planning through to successful operational handover, where you will be responsible for:

- Deploying and configuring Cisco Catalyst 9000 Series switching and enterprise LAN infrastructure.
- Delivering LAN and Wi-Fi solutions across operational, depot and distribution environments.
- Supporting large scale network refresh, transformation and infrastructure upgrade programmes.
- Working alongside Network Architects, Project Managers, operational teams and third-party partners to deliver projects successfully.
- Planning and executing network migrations and cutovers while minimising disruption to 24/7 logistics operations.
- Performing network validation, testing and quality assurance to ensure solutions meet design and performance requirements.
- Providing hands on technical troubleshooting and root cause analysis during implementation and transition.
- Supporting service introduction through documentation, knowledge transfer and operational readiness.
- Ensuring all deployments meet required standards for security, resilience, performance, governance and availability.
- Identifying and mitigating technical, operational and project risks.
- Working safely and in accordance with all relevant Health & Safety requirements.
What we're looking for
We are looking for a technically strong network professional with proven experience delivering enterprise infrastructure in complex, multi-site environments. You will be able to demonstrate:
- CCNP Enterprise or equivalent practical networking experience.
- Hands on experience with Cisco Catalyst 9000 Series switches and enterprise LAN deployments.
- Strong knowledge of Layer 2/3 networking, VLANs, OSPF, BGP, network security and device hardening.
- Experience delivering large scale, multi-site LAN refreshes, upgrades or network transformations.
- Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis and network monitoring skills.
- Experience with network resilience, migrations, cutovers, go-live and operational support.
- Knowledge of change management, implementation governance and technical documentation.
- Full UK driving licence, with flexibility to travel across the UK and Ireland and support out-of-hours cutovers when required.
Desirable experience:
- Fortinet SD-WAN, Extreme Access Points, Zebra HHTs and Cisco Catalyst/DNA Centre.
- Network automation using Python, Ansible or REST APIs.
