As the Site Engineer, you will be responsible for the daily delivery of both reactive and preventative maintenance across the site, ensuring all work is carried out in compliance with legal requirements and Gist policies under the Site Engineering Manager. This role plays a key part in maintaining the operational efficiency and safety of the site, supporting both planned engineering tasks and urgent maintenance needs.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining the site's facilities to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations.
  • Overseeing the cleanliness and conducting regular inspections of all site facilities.
  • Oversee and assist in the site duties with Legionella, Asbestos, Fire and Ammonia ensuring the systems are managed in line with health and safety regulations.
  • Carrying out all breakdowns and reactive maintenance tasks safely, to a high standard, and within agreed timeframes.
  • Ensuring all work is completed according to schedules and manufacturer guidelines to the highest possible standards.
  • Accurately documenting all work completed, with attention to detail.
  • Understanding and supporting the maintenance of refrigeration systems.
  • Experience working within a unionised organisation.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 in a relevant field or practical site experience.
  • Experience in a facilities engineering or maintenance environment.
  • Strong understanding of general engineering principles.
