We are looking for a Full Time Transport Shift Manager to join our team in Belfast.

As a Transport Shift Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of the day-to-day transport operations at the site, ensuring the operation is running smoothly, and supporting the Transport Operation Manager with a variety of tasks that add value to the operation.

Role details:

  • Salary: Up to £40,000
  • Hours: 40 per week
  • Working Pattern: Any 5 days from 7 and 8.00am to 6.00pm
  • Location: Newtownabbey, BT36 4RT (and potentially moving to Larne, BT40 1AS)

What youll do:

  • Maintaining a safe and friendly working environment for all employees, agency and subcontractors
  • Own the recruitment, induction, absence management, well-being meetings & 121s process, including disciplinaries, grievances and investigations within the transport department
  • Ensuring effective communication within the transport teams through meetings and briefings
  • Responsible for delivery of operational KPIs. Maintain and improve performance levels to maximise efficiency of operation in line with account KPI's

Who you are:

  • Thorough knowledge and hands on experience of a transport function within the FMCG Distribution Industry
  • A background operating at a management level is a must
  • Transport CPC desirable
  • A passion for encouraging teamwork, focusing on creating an innovative culture where all employees can voice their suggestions and ideas
  • Excellent team management skill for developing your team
  • An analytical mind-set
  • Flexibility to cover a variety of shift patterns in the future
  • You'll come in to contact with Trade Unions (previous experience with this would be beneficial)
