Gist is currently recruiting for a Project Manager on a full time Permanent basis, based at either at our Chineham site or fully remote.

The Project Manager will support by providing Project Planning, assist in defining project scope, goals, and deliverables as well as develop comprehensive project plans, including schedules, resource allocation, and budgets, whilst partnering cross-functionally across several teams, including the Food Logistics Transformation Programme Team and Logistics Senior Management Teams.

Project Manager role details:

Salary: Up to £50K

Hours: 37.5 per week

Working pattern: Monday – Friday

Location: Chineham or remote based

Project Manager key accountabilities & responsibilities:

  • Project Planning: Assist in defining project scope, goals, and deliverables. Develop comprehensive project plans, including schedules, resource allocation, and budgets.
  • Project delivery ownership of key workstreams within the Logistics Transformation programme.
  • Creation and support in project plan creation, helping to define scope, schedules and deliverables.
  • Facilitate & co-ordinate communication across project stakeholders and leaders to ensure the project remains on track and any risk & issues are raised to the appropriate steering groups for resolution.
  • Monitor and track project progress to ensure tasks are completed on time.
  • Maintain the Programme’s project documentation in line with good project management practice, including appropriate minuting of actions, risks and issues.
  • Assist in developing risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
  • Support the adherence of the programme to good quality control processes to ensure the business case remains on track. Be able to identify and track down variances to the process and challenge or escalate appropriately.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices and process improvements in project management.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders across the projects and programme, upholding M&S values and behaviours.

As Project Manager, the ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong academic background (graduate level).
  • Proven experience in a project management role or consulting background.
  • Fluent in English (both oral and written).
  • Demonstrate strong analytical, relationship management, and organizational skills with a proven track record of building positive working relationships.
  • You\’ll be solution-focused, identifying problem areas and then creating plans to find resolutions.
  • You\’ll have strong communication skills, in particular, good story-telling skills through presentations.
  • Highly organized and efficient.
  • Use of Excel and PowerPoint is essential, use of MS Projects is a plus.
  • An appreciation of the Food retailing industry.
  • An appreciation of Logistics & Supply Chains.
