We are looking for a Full Time Night Transport Shift Manager to join our team at Crewe. As a Night Transport Shift Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of the day-to-day transport operations at the site, ensuring the operation is running smoothly, and supporting the Transport Operation Manager with a variety of tasks that add value to the operation. You will also ensure all productivity, legal and compliance cost targets are met and exceeded, as well as manage and coordinate transport operations at the distribution centre. You’ll be able to drive performance in line with KPI’s and an engaged leader who can communicate across all levels of the business to ensure business critical messages are delivered accurately.

Salary: Up to £39,261.24 + shift premium per annum
Hours: 38.5 hours per week (Nights)
Working pattern: Week 1: Wednesday - Saturday & Week 2: Tuesday - Thursday (rotating) | 18:00 PM to 06:00 AM

What you’ll do:
- Maintaining a safe and friendly working environment for all employees, agency and subcontractors
- Own the recruitment, induction, absence management, well-being meetings & 121s process, including disciplinaries, grievances and investigations within the transport department
- Ensuring effective communication within the transport teams through meetings and briefings
- Responsible for delivery of operational KPIs. Maintain and improve performance levels to maximise efficiency of operation in line with account KPI's
- Manage drivers and transport coordinators in a variety of areas, including but not limited to: Wellbeing meetings, long term sick management, return to work Quality 121s, ER issues including conducting investigations, disciplinaries and grievances.
- Champion safe and fuel-efficient driver
- Driving success through Microlise strategic plan

- Thorough knowledge and hands on experience of a transport function within the FMCG Distribution Industry
- A background operating at a management level is a must
- A passion for encouraging teamwork, focusing on creating an innovative culture where all employees can voice their suggestions and ideas

- Flexibility to cover a variety of shift patterns in the future
- You’ll come in to contact with Trade Unions (previous experience with this would be beneficial)
