The Opportunity

Our Transport team based in Barnsley are looking for a dynamic and ambitious Transport Coordinator, where you will work within our impressive and newly refurbished operation that provides exclusive services to M&S Food. This role will see you working a rotational 4on 4off shift pattern of 6am-6pm and 10am-10pm.

What you'll be doing

  • Act as the first point of contact for drivers, managing briefs, debriefs, and resolving queries efficiently.
  • Ensure legal compliance relating to the Operating License.
  • Deliver operational excellence and continuous improvements across cost, service and peak planning.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, resolving and escalating live operational issues.
  • Monitor route performance, ensure timely delivery, manage supplier queries and escalate issues to management where required.
  • Manage daily administrative tasks efficiently, including payroll, holidays, exceptions and scheduling.
  • Assist with wider team administration and export activities, ensuring compliance and adherence to rules and regulations.

What we're looking for

To be successful in your application you will have proven experience of working within a fast-paced transport environment, ideally someone who has experience of collaborating and communicating with wider transport teams and drivers, confident in briefing and debriefing and capable of resolving queries quickly and confidently. You will be IT literate able to use Microsoft packages in particular Word, Outlook and Excel and it goes without saying that you’ll be a team player, natural problem solver with a high attention to detail and a passion for all things transport. We would also welcome applications from individuals that may not have transport experience, but have a passion and willingness to learn, with proven administrative or coordination skills.

Salary: Up to £31,515.87 per annum + an additional shift allowance of £1,125 per annum

Working hours: Rotational 4on 4off shift of 6am-6pm and 10am-10pm.
