We are looking for a Senior Finance Manager – Controls & Compliance to join our Finance team. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring robust financial governance, statutory compliance and financial controls across Gist’s UK and Ireland legal entities. This is a highly visible role that combines financial controls, statutory reporting, audit management and technical accounting, providing the opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders across Gist and M&S.

Compensation:

  • Salary: Competitive
  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week
  • Working pattern: Monday- Friday 9-5pm

Responsibilities:

  • Leading the financial controls and compliance framework across Gist UK and Ireland, ensuring appropriate controls are designed, documented and evidenced
  • Managing the preparation, review and completion of statutory accounts for multiple legal entities
  • Acting as the key contact for internal and external auditors, coordinating audit activity and ensuring timely responses to audit requirements
  • Driving continuous improvement of financial controls and supporting the implementation of new governance and compliance requirements
  • Providing technical accounting expertise and guidance to finance and business stakeholders
  • Coordinating corporation tax reporting requirements and wider finance compliance activities
  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders across Gist, M&S Group Finance, auditors and external advisors

Qualifications:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA preferred)
  • Significant experience in statutory reporting and financial compliance
  • Strong understanding of financial controls, governance and audit requirements
  • Experience managing external audit relationships and year-end reporting processes
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and the ability to interpret and apply accounting standards
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and challenge at all levels
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capability
