The Network Planning Centre (NPC) operates at the heart of Gist’s transport function. Within this role you will be working across both the TCL and M&S Foods business units. As a Network Planning Team Leader you will be responsible for leading and motivating the network planning team to produce the most efficient transport plans for our depots and associated customers, whilst adhering to strict service requirements.

The Network Planning Team Leader will be responsible for driving the performance of their region, working on a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern of 12 hours, working collaboratively with operational teams to drive continuous efficiency improvements. As a people manager, the Network Planning Team Leader will need to effectively coach and lead their team.

Hours: 42 hours
Working Pattern: 4 on / 4 off shift pattern of 12 hours, 7:00am start

What you’ll do: Your key accountabilities will include:

  • Line Management of the network planning team
  • Continually review current outputs and ways of working to drive efficiencies and improvement in the planning processes
  • Continuous improvement responsibility for a specific region, working collaboratively with internal operational teams
  • Driving KPI performance within the department
  • Support ongoing development of the network planning team
  • Building relationships with internal and external stakeholders to improve service and deliver cost improvements

Who you are: Your skills and experience will include:

  • Previous experience in relevant transport or planning roles
  • Paragon or Enterprise system experience
  • Ability to drive performance improvement through KPI's
  • Passion for establishing and embedding business process
  • Leadership capability, ideally demonstrated within a transport environment, with experience in training, coaching and mentoring to develop transport knowledge and capability
  • Attention to detail and an analytical mind-set
  • Confidence in front of senior leaders and customers
