Urgent requirement for a field engineer to provide and assure activities across a strategic telecommunications network across Scotland.
Duties include 1st line, assure activities and routine maintenance work for our key utilities' suppliers.
Working alongside our project engineers on project delivery & assure delivery to achieve the benefits expected by the client.
You will be able to manage risk, ensure quality and health & safety requirements are being met on an individual and team basis.
You will hold a technical knowledge of networking principles, having operated in both provide and assure delivery space and have a proven track record of successful technical project implementation across various delivery solutions.
Full UK Driving Licence Demonstrate a positive can-do attitude required.
Must have technical / professional qualifications
- Proven track record in the installation and support of DC Charger, PDH, SDH, Comtel, Microwave radio technology’s DC & AC experienced.
- Knowledge of Cisco & Alcatel products.
- LAN & WAN Internetworking skills
- Key accountabilities and decision ownership
- Ensure projects are completed in a manner that ensures delivery to the time, cost, quality, health & safety parameters agreed with the client whilst conforming to Vodafone’s project engineering standards and others as agreed with the client.
- A requirement to complete project documentation as required by the project engineer.
- Monitor progress against plan and recommend corrective actions.
- Identify issues and risks and escalate appropriately.
- Provide timely and quality communication to all stakeholders.
- Ensure technical, test and quality plans as agreed are delivered to the project engineer.
- Ensure the necessary project administration is carried out.
- Provisions of 1st, line assure activities on 24 x 7 x 365 basis adhering to our agreed contractual SLA targets.
- Completion of nominated RMI activities as & when required.

- Installation of Networks & equipment (Commtel/SDH/PDH/Radio/Xtran)
- Excellent knowledge of routing switching and data networking
- IP networking (Wan, LAN, MPLS)
- Experience in maintaining monitoring and troubleshooting networks and systems
