The Role:
We're seeking someone with a passion for sports and broadcasting to join our delivery stream. This role requires strong communication, self-management, and organisational skills with the ability to adjust priorities based on project needs. Our ideal candidate is a strong communicator, problem solver, and a team player. You will have an understanding of the live production and broadcast environment and have the ability to travel domestically and internationally as required, for short periods of time as needed by production.
As a full-time Graphics Operator at Girraphic, when not operating on live events, you will support other areas of the business including but not limited to:
- Assisting with hardware maintenance, testing, and quality assurance
- Creating graphics concepts and making design changes
This is a full-time position, based onsite at production locations and in our London (SW19) office. Hours will vary to support the operational schedule at the time.
Who you are, What you'll do:
- Experienced operating Viz Trio or equivalent graphics control software
- Experienced operating virtual and onscreen graphics
- Have a deep understanding of Viz Trio troubleshooting including engine configuration, data connectivity, drive connections, image databases, etc.
- Strong experience working in a live control room
- Knowledge of Viz Tracking Hub and Studio Manager
- Responsible for setting up and breaking down all graphic equipment
- Works with directors, camera operators, and producers to pre-build graphics and execute effectively on-air
- Works with camera operators to establish show looks including input on live camera blocking
- Adapt to each production and willing to lend a helping hand to multiple aspects of basic production operations
- Willingness and ability to train others as needed, including freelance or other team members to provide redundancy and support
- Move quickly and accurately under pressure in a fast-paced broadcast environment
- Collaborate with the technical team and editorial personnel in order to ensure a quality visual presentation to our audience
- Read, follow, and execute all relevant tasks outlined in a live broadcast rundown
- Follow along with developments, working quickly to match relevant graphics with the on-air conversation as they become available
Preferred Experience & Requirements:
- Experience live operating broadcast graphics, ideally sports
- Experience with graphics software, such as Viz, Chyron, etc.
- Ability to manage multiple streams of information simultaneously while operating live graphics system, maintaining a consistently strong attention to detail
- Flexibility to work early morning, evening, overnight hours, weekends, and holidays
- Proven experience working in a fast-paced environment while remaining organised and calm under pressure
- Able to stand and sit for long periods of time within production environments
