An exciting opportunity has opened up for a Structural Engineer to join a fast-growing, design-led civil and structural engineering consultancy based in Exeter.
This is not a volume-led, conveyor-belt consultancy. This team works on carefully selected high-quality residential and commercial projects, delivering bespoke engineering solutions with real autonomy, trust and technical influence. You’ll be involved from early feasibility and planning through to delivery, shaping projects rather than simply servicing them. If you enjoy variety, responsibility and working closely with clients and architects, this role offers a refreshing change from the corporate grind.
As Senior Structural Engineer, you’ll play a key role in leading project delivery and supporting the continued growth of the business.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Working closely with architects, consultants and clients to deliver coordinated design solutions
- Producing high-quality structural designs, drawings and technical reports
- Providing structural surveys, feasibility input and planning advice
- Managing client relationships and communicating clearly throughout the project lifecycle
- Maintaining consistently high technical and quality standards
- Designing across a range of residential and commercial schemes, from concept to completion
You’ll be trusted to work independently, take ownership of your projects and make technical decisions with confidence.
You’ll be a capable and confident Structural Engineer with:
- A degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
- 5+ years’ relevant industry experience
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Tekla
- Experience with Revit, Site3D or Flow (beneficial, not essential)
- Excellent communication, IT and report-writing skills
- The ability to hit the ground running and manage your own workload
This consultancy genuinely invests in its people and offers a package designed to attract and retain top talent:
- Competitive salary
- Flexible working
- Performance-related annual bonus
- Private healthcare plan
- Clear and achievable career progression
- Accredited training and development schemes
- A friendly, supportive and collaborative team culture
- Your birthday off 🎂
This is a business in a fortunate position – able to choose its clients, deliver work it’s proud of, and maintain a genuinely personal, high-quality service. You’ll be based from their Exeter office, working with a team that values trust, technical excellence and balance.
