We are seeking a Site Engineer with strong experience in civil engineering and groundworks to join our team on a contract basis for an 8-month project. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a high-quality and safe project, working closely with the site team and subcontractors to ensure accurate setting out and execution of works on a busy civils site. This is a company that is rapidly growing up the M5 corridor so there is potential for further works after the role is completed.
- Carry out accurate setting out for all aspects of groundwork and civil engineering works (e.g., drainage, foundations, roads, levels, kerbing, ducting).
- Interpret and work from technical drawings, ensuring works are delivered as per specifications.
- Supervise works to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with method statements and risk assessments.
- Liaise with subcontractors, foremen, and project managers to ensure coordinated site activities.
- Maintain daily site records including material deliveries, inspections, and progress reports.
- Conduct as-built surveys and update drawings where necessary.
- Support health and safety initiatives and ensure best practices are followed on site.
- Contribute to weekly planning and reporting meetings

Requirements:
- Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- Proven track record working as a Site Engineer on civils and groundwork projects.
- Proficient with setting out equipment (Total Station, GPS, Dumpy Level).
- CSCS card (required); SSSTS or SMSTS (desirable).
- Strong understanding of site health & safety requirements.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
- Competent in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office for reporting and technical documentation
- Previous experience with a groundworks site
