We are looking to appoint an experienced Site Engineer to join a leading name in the civil engineering sector on a long-term freelance basis at Plymouth Dockyard.
You will be joining a friendly, collaborative team within a contractor well known for supporting its staff and delivering technically complex civil engineering projects to a high standard.
The business has recently secured a significant uplift in workload as part of a four-year, £750 million framework with the UK MOD’s Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA). The programme will deliver essential infrastructure to support and sustain the UK’s submarine fleet for decades to come.
The Role
This is a fully site-based position, working across a variety of schemes with individual project values ranging from £500k to £30m, including:
- Large civil engineering structures
- Concrete repairs and maintenance
- Marine-based civil engineering works
Reporting into the Site Agent / Senior Project Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day delivery of works on site, ensuring projects are delivered safely, accurately and to programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting out and engineering control of works
- Producing and maintaining RAMS, ITPs and as-built records
- Supporting the Site Agent with short-term planning and coordination
- Liaising with design teams and resolving technical queries
- Coordinating subcontractors and supervising works on site
- Ensuring works are delivered in line with health & safety requirements and quality standards
