Senior Civil Engineer

Senior Civil Engineer Location: Plymouth Discipline: Civil Engineering A multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join its Plymouth office. This role focuses on drainage and infrastructure design for a busy portfolio spanning various sectors as well as a substantial residential development workload. The Role As Senior Civil Engineer, you will be able to work effectively and independently to produce quality designs, reports, surveys and other documentation for a range of projects. You\’ll manage your workload and time effectively, fully supported buy the wider team. Responsibilities Produce design packs for commercial and residential developments. Develop detailed drainage designs, including foul and surface water networks, adopting SuDS principles. Generate plot drainage layouts and external works drawings in line with local authority requirements. Prepare adoptable highway layouts and coordinate with highway authorities on S38/S278 agreements. Liaise with structural team to deliver integrated solutions. Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on best-practice design procedures. Requirements Degree (BEng/MEng) or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering Chartered Engineer status (ICE or IStructE) or working towards chartership desirable. 4–5 years\’ experience with knowledge of the residential sector Proficiency in Site3D, Flow, or similar drainage-modelling software Knowledge of SuDS design and flood-risk management. Experience preparing design packs and conducting surveys. Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and self-organise within a busy design team.
