We are currently looking for a skilled Freelance Quantity Surveyor to join a leading contractor working on the AMP8 water framework in Bournemouth. This is an ongoing contract opportunity, focused on the civils and infrastructure side of water sector delivery. Ideal for a QS with prior experience in water, utilities, or heavy civils environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee commercial and cost management duties across multiple civils/water packages
  • Support the procurement, valuation, and change management processes
  • Prepare and manage sub-contracts, including payments and final accounts
  • Monitor project performance, budgets, and forecasts
  • Liaise closely with project managers, engineers, and client representatives
  • Ensure compliance with contract terms and NEC forms of contract

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in civils or water-related projects
  • Strong knowledge of NEC contracts (NEC3 or NEC4)
  • Familiarity with AMP frameworks highly desirable
  • Excellent cost reporting and commercial forecasting abilities
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related field preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and cost management tools
