Fire Engineering Director – UK Wide We are delighted to be supporting a forward-thinking and innovative multidisciplinary Construction & Design Consultancy specializing in sustainable design and building services, as they seek to expand their senior leadership. Our client is currently looking for an experienced Associate-level Fire Engineering Director from a Building Services / M&E background to lead a new team. As Fire Engineering Director, you will play a critical role in driving the strategic direction of the fire engineering department. You will oversee the management of projects, ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance, and quality in fire engineering design. You will have a direct influence on team development, contributing to the growth and success of the consultancy. Key Responsibilities as Fire Engineering Director: Reporting directly to the CEO & Building Services Directors, responsible for leading and resourcing the fire engineering team Managing a team of engineers, including mentoring Junior Engineers, Apprentices, and Graduates Overseeing the production of design deliverables, including fire safety strategies, specifications, and reports Ensuring that engineering designs meet quality standards, project briefs, and client requirements Engaging directly with clients, delivering presentations, and managing client relationships on key projects Performing all duties typically expected of a Senior/Associate Engineer, with a particular focus on fire engineering What you’ll need to succeed as Fire Engineering Director: A degree relevant to Fire Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent M&E construction experience and qualifications Professional affiliation or chartership (e.g., MIFireE, CEng, MCIBSE) is highly desirable A minimum of 4 years’ experience in a fire engineering role within building services or general construction A strong understanding of the commercial aspects of engineering projects Experience with fire engineering software such as PyroSim, FDS, or similar tools is advantageous but not essential In return, we are offering an rare and exciting prospect for the right individual to join a thriving company with this opportunity to take a directing role and build your own department.
