A growing engineering design team is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the delivery of mechanical engineering solutions for water sector projects across the South. Hybrid working is available.

You will report to the Regional Discipline Lead and provide high quality mechanical design services for turnkey and engineering contracts. This includes coordinating design activity, producing technical documents and ensuring all work meets safety, regulatory and specification requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce mechanical design layouts that are economical, buildable and compliant.
  • Prepare design documents, reports and drawings.
  • Ensure design work is fully coordinated with all internal and external disciplines.
  • Provide estimates and technical input to support proposals.
  • Follow established procedures and support departmental process improvement.
  • Review and monitor design processes and assist with updating procedures.
  • Support a customer focused environment across internal and external interactions.
  • Ensure designs account for environmental considerations.
  • Ensure all designs fully address health and safety requirements.
About You
  • Understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes.
  • Relevant degree or HND qualification.
  • Ability to rationalise designs and develop efficient plant layouts.
  • Ability to present technical proposals clearly and confidently.
  • Strong analytical and organisational capability with the ability to manage varied inputs.
  • Good computer literacy.
