Assistant Quantity Surveyor – Bristol    The Company    I am on the hunt for an “Assistant Quantity Surveyor” to join one of my clients in their Bristol Office. Our client is established in the region delivering a mixed portfolio of projects to meet the needs of their clients. With offices across the UK, they pride themselves on an open office culture where hard work is rewarded and individual development is seen as key to the success of the team. Working with long standing clients, you will be exposed to a depth and breadth of projects across all sectors, including commercial, retail, public sector/government departments, education, health and residential.  They offer excellent experience and first class training/mentoring support to help you achieve professional status in which they have a very high success rate.     The Opportunity The successful “Assistant Quantity Surveyor” will join a busy existing team with key responsibilities including: Collaborating closely with the team and providing support to senior staff both in the office and during site visits Engaging in ongoing training with the goal of attaining chartered status Preparing cost advice following RICS guidance notes, covering aspects such as order of cost estimates, viability reports, formal cost plans, cash-flow forecasts, life cycle and whole life cost assessments, and more Preparing tender documentation and effectively managing the tender process Handling the preparation of contracts with precision Accurately preparing valuations for progress payments Efficiently compiling post-contract cost reports Assisting with preparation of final accounts   The Ideal Candidate They are looking for candidates with recent Construction Consultancy experience, as well as:   Educated to degree level or equivalent, with membership status of a relevant professional body such as RICS, CIOB etc. (preferable) Stable work history Good technical writing skills and knowledge of reading drawings and tender documents, etc Good client-facing and communication skills, ability to build long-term relationships A team player with a ‘can-do’ attitude, outgoing, polite, patient, diplomatic, personable, respectful and flexible What’s in it for you? 25 days plus bank holidays & the ability to buy or sell Life insurance Pension scheme (3% Employee, 6% Employer) Private medical insurance Hybrid working Tailored career development plan
