At Giraffe Children’s Services, we believe every child deserves to stand tall to feel safe, understood and supported to reach their full potential. We’re opening a brand-new, high-quality children’s home in Great Harwood for young people with learning disabilities and complex needs and we’re looking for an inspiring Deputy Manager to help lead this exciting new service.
You’ll work alongside a passionate Registered Manager to create a warm, therapeutic and family-style home. This isn’t just a management role it’s a chance to help shape a culture where every child is truly seen, and every member of staff is valued and supported.
What you’ll be doing:
- Supporting the Registered Manager to ensure the home meets Ofsted’s “Good” or “Outstanding” standards
- Leading, mentoring and developing a skilled and compassionate care team
- Embedding person-centred, evidence-based approaches such as PBS, TEACCH and Makaton
- Maintaining high standards of safeguarding, health & safety and regulatory compliance
- Working closely with families, schools and professionals to achieve exceptional outcomes for every child
What we’re looking for:
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Working towards Level 5 Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare
- Experience supporting children with learning disabilities or autism
- At least 2 years’ experience in a children’s residential or LD setting, including supervisory experience
- A calm, reflective and child-focused approach with strong leadership and communication skills
