We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Assistant to join us and become part of our hard working and friendly finance department. The hours are to be worked on a Thursday and Friday, for 38 weeks per year (term time only), timings are to be negotiated.

Copleston High School is a popular 11-18 mixed comprehensive noted for its caring and disciplined atmosphere. It was judged as a ‘good school with outstanding features’ by Ofsted in December 2023. As a school we are committed to raising standards of learning.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing school orders, dealing with finance related queries, and supporting the Director of Finance with day-to-day tasks.

You will:

  • Have GCSE Maths and English grade C or level 5 and above
  • Have a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and data protection
  • Understand the importance of safeguarding and child protection in a school setting
  • Have an understanding of GDPR
  • Have excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a range of stakeholders
  • Be proficient in the use of IT systems and software, knowledge of SAGE Intaact is advantageous but not a requirement
  • Have great attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and data entry
  • Have the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently as required
  • Have flexibility and adaptability to respond to the changing needs of the school
