We are looking for an AWS Cloud Engineer for our client's role based completely remotely in the UK.
Security Clearance: Active SC Clearance is a must have.
Role: Remote but might require travel to the offices as and when required - Croydon or London.
Job Description: Supports the development and operation of software through tools, environments and practices. Responsible for underpinning good development processes including managing tools and testing environments, central code control, maintaining development standards and writing software that automates systems. Delivering automated software components that form part of a development operations toolchain. Transforming technical requirements into DevOps processes; build complex stories without additional support; manage live test environments; identify and resolve issues preventing delivery.
Typical Skills:
- Manage the service components to ensure they meet business needs and performance targets.
- Spot or identify obvious deficiencies.
- Design solutions and services with security controls embedded, specifically engineered as mitigation against security threats as a core part of the solutions and services.
- Design, code, test and document programs or scripts of medium to high complexity.
- Use a variety of methods of prototyping.
- Identify, locate and fix faults.
- Produce detailed designs and document all work using required standards, methods and tools, including prototyping tools.
- Design systems characterised by managed levels of risk, manageable business, and technical complexity.
- Build and test simple interfaces between systems or can work on more complex integration as part of a wider team.
- Know how to use quantitative and qualitative data about users to turn user focus into outcomes.
Minimum Requirement:
- AWS certs or experience.
- General DevOps/CICD hands-on experience.
- Terraform, bash and python scripting.
- Solid understanding of Git usage and workflows.
- Strong EC2/ALB/ASG.
- CloudWatch/Grafana.
- Gitlab CI admin (self-hosted ideally).
- Artifactory admin (self-hosted ideally).
- SEO x1 role for AMT product team.
- Building/Managing Landing Zones experience (essential).
- Proxy Squid (essential).
- ForitProxi (nice to have).
- VPC networking (essentials) – routing, subnets, IGW, NACLs, SGs.
- Account Factory experience (nice to have).
- SEO x2 roles for Ingress team.
- Networking (OSI model, TCP/IP stack, TLS handshake, tcp 3-way handshake - SYN/SYN-ACK/ACK).
- Transit Gateway.
- Network security (any kind of firewall, WAF, suricata (nice to have)).
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- CloudWatch logs (for troubleshooting).
