We are hiring for Ab Initio Developer at Knutsford, UK – 2-3 days per week Onsite.
Role Description:
- Understanding of agile development methodology and practice it in day to day work, including contributing to cost and effort estimations.
- Devising ETL/API based strategy and providing solution design options for disparate data integration applications.
- Designing and implementing ETL/API solutions with parallel processing architecture, including analysis of change incidents against applications products within domain.
- Leading story based development and unit test and adherence to all coding standards, including delivery of high quality code that achieves consistently high code quality ratings.
- Leading application development and unit testing, including effective integration with upstream & downstream processes and systems.
- Contributing to relevant technical standards, including documenting all work in accordance with agreed standards, and with re-use in mind.
- Reporting progress in JIRA against assigned activities in a timely manner.
- Supporting the team, both technically and culturally.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong knowledge or experience leading applications based on Databases. Both Traditional Relational DBMS and NoSQL.
- Experience in Structured Query Language, Data warehousing Concepts and Big Data/Hadoop Ecosystem.
- Previous experience in ETL Tools such as Abinitio, Talend, Informatica, DataStage and Spark.
- Experience of Java based Object Oriented Programming, RESTful APIs implementation in Java, Unix & Shell Scripting, including job scheduling for e.g. Autosys and/or Tivoli Workload.
Skills That Will Help You In The Role:
- Previous experience in Data modelling knowledge.
- Managing and maintaining a Deployment on Cloud.
- Experience in Packaging individual microservices i.e. Containerisation.
- Ability to keep track of and effectively manage continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
