Job Description:
Hands‑on experience and a strong understanding of Elasticsearch and/or Lucene, or closely related technologies such as Splunk, OpenSearch, Solr, Palantir, Datadog, Grafana, or equivalent search, observability, analytics, or operational intelligence platforms, including use cases such as SIEM, log analytics, threat detection, and mission‑critical monitoring
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Software Engineer, System Administrator, or DevOps Engineer
- Minimum of 5 years' experience working as a Consultant, delivering and executing professional services engagements
- Currently holds UK security clearance, has previously held security clearance, or is willing to undergo security clearance
- Experience designing, building, and operating large‑scale distributed systems, data platforms, analytics platforms, or enterprise search platforms in high‑volume, high‑availability, and security‑sensitive environments
- Familiarity with data modelling, indexing strategies, search performance tuning, query optimisation, and information retrieval and/or analytics concepts across large datasets
- Experience designing and building large‑scale data ingestion pipelines, including real‑time and batch ingestion, and familiarity with streaming and messaging technologies such as Kafka, Logstash, Elastic Agent, Fluentd, or RabbitMQ
- Familiarity with secure‑by‑design principles, role‑based access controls, data governance, and deployment patterns suitable for regulated or government environments
- Experience troubleshooting complex issues across application, infrastructure, network, and data layers
- Experience with infrastructure as code, platform automation, and modern delivery practices using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Helm, Pulumi, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Argo CD, or Flux
- Experience deploying and managing workloads in Kubernetes, cloud‑native environments, and public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including designing secure and scalable architectures
- Experience as a technical instructor or public speaker to large audiences on enterprise infrastructure software technology for engineers, developers, and other technical roles
- Excellent at working directly with customers to gather, prioritise, plan, and execute solutions against customer business requirements as they relate to our technologies
- Understanding and passion for open‑source technology, with knowledge of and proficiency in at least one programming language
- Understanding of Linux, Java, and databases
