An opening has arisen at a construction business in South Buckinghamshire for a Quantity Surveyor, to provide assistance to the Divisional Managing Director, with the control of all commercial aspects of their customer and sub–contractor contracts from initial order to final account, ensuring maximising commercial performance throughout.
- Liaising closely with the estimator at the tendering stage to ensure accurate project costing.
- Prepare specifications and/or Contractor’s proposals (VE).
- Preparation and issue of contractual letters to clients and/or sub-contractors.
- Pricing all materials included in project plans and drawings.
- Negotiating and agreeing the most favourable terms possible with suppliers and sub-contractors.
- Preparing and maintaining cost reports, managing budgets.
- Prepare monthly valuations of works carried out and submit applications for payment.
- Identify contract variations and client changes, controlling costs.
- Maintain contract documentation and advise on pre-tender and post contract matters.
- Analyse contract performance and reconcile against financial performance.
- Dealing effectively with challenges with suppliers and the flow of materials and identifying new products.
- Prepare and negotiate a Final Accounts.
- Ensuring HSE compliance requirements of materials and services.
We are looking for someone with experience of running projects as the Commercial Lead, with good practice of contract/commercial law. Good working knowledge of forms of contract currently used within the Building and Civil Engineering industry and standard forms of measurement. Driving licence is essential to visit sites all within a 50 mile radius.
