Role description: Gingham Nanny Agency is seeking an experienced, nurturing and reliable Specialist Nanny to support a family in the BS15 area of Bristol. This role is caring for two children, aged 10 and 4 years. Their father has an acquired brain injury, and their mother is expecting a third baby. The family require calm, consistent and child-focused support during a period of transition.
The role will include:
- Providing warm, engaging childcare for two children
- Planning age-appropriate activities
- Supporting emotional regulation and positive routines
- Offering calm, consistent support within the family home
- Working sensitively in a family affected by brain injury
- Supporting the children through a trauma-informed approach
- Liaising professionally with Gingham and, where appropriate, the wider team
The ideal nanny will be:
- Experienced in childcare, nannying, family support or SEN
- Calm, patient and emotionally mature
- Confident supporting children who may have experienced significant life events
- Able to provide structure, reassurance and consistency
- Professional, discreet and reliable
- Comfortable working in a sensitive family environment
Experience of trauma-informed childcare, acquired brain injury, SEN, ADHD, autism, emotional regulation or complex family needs would be highly beneficial. This is a meaningful role for someone who understands that specialist nanny support is about far more than childcare β it is about providing stability, safety and reassurance for children and the wider family.
