Role Description: Gingham Nanny Agency is seeking a compassionate, experienced and proactive Specialist Live-In Nanny to support a family in Rickmansworth. The role involves supporting a father with a brain injury to care for his 4-year-old daughter during the time she is with him. The child’s mother lives separately, and the nanny will play an important role in helping to provide safe, nurturing and consistent support within the father’s home. This is a specialist family support role, requiring sensitivity, professionalism and an understanding of the impact brain injury can have on day-to-day parenting.
Responsibilities
- Supporting Dad in his parenting role
- Ensuring the child’s safety, welfare and wellbeing at all times
- Providing age-appropriate activities, play and routines
- Supporting meals, bath time, bedtime and morning routines
- Standby childcare while the child is at school
- Child-related domestic duties
- Supporting positive interaction and quality time between father and daughter
- Maintaining professional boundaries and clear communication
- Working in line with Gingham Nanny Agency’s safeguarding and reporting procedures
Qualifications
- Previous nanny or childcare experience
- Experience supporting families affected by brain injury, disability, SEN or complex needs is desirable
- Enhanced DBS
- Paediatric First Aid Certificate
- Excellent communication skills
- Calm, compassionate and professional approach
- Ability to work sensitively within a family home
- Reliable, flexible and confident working in a specialist support role
