We are seeking an experienced Disrepair Manager to take ownership of legal disrepair cases within a social housing environment, working on behalf of a main contractor delivering responsive and planned maintenance services. This is a hands-on, commercially aware role with responsibility for driving disrepair cases through to resolution, ensuring works are raised, managed, completed, and evidenced correctly while maintaining strong relationships with residents and clients.

You will act as the central point of coordination between residents, legal teams, internal operational teams, and the client—ensuring cases are progressed efficiently, risks are controlled, and outcomes are delivered in line with contractual and legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take end-to-end ownership of legal disrepair cases from notification through to resolution
  • Liaise directly with residents, surveyors, solicitors, and internal teams to progress cases
  • Ensure disrepair works are correctly scoped, raised, prioritised, and managed through to completion
  • Monitor and manage case timelines, ensuring compliance with legal obligations and agreed programmes
  • Maintain accurate case records, evidence packs, and audit trails suitable for legal scrutiny
  • Proactively identify risks, delays, or blockers and drive corrective action
  • Provide regular, clear updates to the client on case progress, performance, and emerging issues
  • Work closely with operational teams to ensure works are delivered right first time
  • Support the reduction of legal exposure, compensation, and associated costs
  • Ensure all activity aligns with health & safety, safeguarding, and compliance requirements
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven experience managing legal disrepair cases within social housing
  • Strong understanding of social housing repairs, maintenance processes, and compliance
  • Experience working for a main contractor or housing provider
  • Confident communicator with the ability to engage residents, clients, and legal stakeholders
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and case management capability
  • Able to challenge constructively, prioritise effectively, and work under pressure
  • Commercially aware, with a focus on outcomes and risk mitigation
Desirable
  • Knowledge of current housing legislation and regulatory requirements
  • Experience working alongside solicitors, surveyors, or expert witnesses
  • Familiarity with repairs management systems and performance reporting
Why Join Us
  • Work on high-profile social housing contracts with real impact on residents’ homes
  • Be trusted to lead and shape the disrepair process, not just administer it
  • Join a contractor that values accountability, transparency, and delivery
  • Competitive salary and benefits package
