We are seeking a Subcontractor Supply Chain Manager to take full ownership of our subcontractor supply chain supporting void and planned works delivery. This is a standalone, hands-on management role with end-to-end responsibility. You will be accountable for recruiting, onboarding, managing, and sustaining a reliable subcontractor workforce that meets operational demand, quality standards, and compliance requirements.
The purpose of the role is to ensure a robust, compliant, and responsive subcontractor supply chain is in place at all times to support void and planned works programmes. You will act as the single point of responsibility for subcontractor supply, balancing capacity, performance, compliance, and availability while working closely with operational teams to meet workload requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Full ownership of the subcontractor supply chain for void and planned works
- Recruiting, vetting, onboarding, and mobilising subcontractors across required trades
- Maintaining strong day-to-day working relationships with subcontractors
- Ensuring sufficient subcontractor capacity is in place to meet programme demand
- Monitoring subcontractor performance, quality, attendance, and reliability
- Managing compliance requirements including insurance, accreditation, and H&S documentation
- Agreeing rates, allocating work packages, and managing availability
- Maintaining accurate supply chain records and system updates
- Proactively identifying risks to delivery and escalating issues where required
- Working closely with operational teams to align labour supply with workload and priorities
This is a hands-on role, requiring direct involvement in recruitment, administration, coordination, and performance management.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience managing subcontractors within construction, maintenance, or social housing
- Strong understanding of voids and/or planned works delivery
- Comfortable working independently with full responsibility and accountability
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Confident using IT systems for records, compliance, and reporting
- Strong communication skills with the ability to manage relationships professionally
